During this year’s Neste World RX of Latvia, a round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, attendees will have an opportunity to get in the passenger’s seat of a race car, being driven around the CSDD Biķernieki track by a professional racing driver.
On September 14, the driving will be done by experienced rally drivers – FIA World Rally Championship WRC2 competitor Nikolay Gryazin, ex-rally driver and Neiksans Rallysport owner, principal and coach Māris Neikšāns, as well as ex-rally driver Mārcis Ķenavs. There will be a choice of three cars – Škoda Fabia R5, Fiesta NRC Prototype, and Ford Fiesta S2000. The amount of passenger laps is limited, with each run lasting for two laps – one regular lap and one Joker lap. These drives will take place after all the official rallycross races of Saturday has finished, around 17:00.
“Spectators really enjoy having an opportunity to sit in the passenger’s seat and feel the emotions and experience of rallycross drivers, when tackling the Rīga rallycross track! These positive emotions are the reason why we continue this activity thanks to the effort of Latvian rally and rallycross teams, Neikšāns Rallysport and Sports Racing Technologies. In 2017, there was only one car – Mitsubishi Evo X, but this year’s offering is significantly improved, as we will be offering three cars, driven by three very experienced professionals – Nikolay Gryazin, Māris Neikšāns, and Mārcis Ķenavs!” says RA Events and Neste World RX of Latvia director Raimonds Strokšs.
